After all the corndogs have been eaten, blue ribbons awarded, and rides packed up for the road, Western Idaho Fair officials still have one big job ahead: tallying up all the numbers for the year. This year, Fair officials are pleased to announce an overall attendance of 249,311 and steady year-to-year increases in a number of categories, including:
- 2.5% increase in overall attendance
- 6% increase in exhibitor participation
- 9.5% increase in exhibits
- 20% increase in the 4-H market livestock sale
- Over 31,000 attendees on both Saturdays, August 20 and August 27.
Hit grounds acts like Knights of the Realm, Sea Lion Encounters, Butterfly Adventures, and the Timberworks Lumberjack Show enjoyed widespread participation and overwhelmingly positive feedback from fairgoers, which helped contribute to the overall success of this year’s Fair.
Additionally, Butler Amusements had their highest grossing carnival year as well as their highest grossing single day in Western Idaho Fair’s history on Saturday, August 27th. Western Idaho Fair has a long, fruitful history with Butler, who annually injects hundreds of thousands of dollars into the local community on vehicles, generators, maintenance shops, hardware stores, and other services and supplies. This year alone, Butler spent over an estimated $500,000 in the Boise community.
Western Idaho Fair would like to thank all the exhibitors, vendors, workers, and especially all the attendees at this year’s Fair. The Fair wouldn’t happen without you!
